A Letter to the Presidential Candidates

A LETTER TO THE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES

From a Mother

Dear Presidential Candidates,
When my son looks at me during a replay of one of your debates and says: "Mom, why can't they just be nice to each other?" it makes me sad. What you are saying to one another and the way you all are behaving leads me to question if any of you are capable of running this country that we love.
I am not usually one to comment on political things, but I don't understand why all you candidates think this is something we are okay with. I, for one, am not.
I want my children to grow up thinking their leaders are kind people. I want to feel like the people running for office are going to do what they feel is best for humanity, and not just to boost ratings or themselves. I want to see the leaders who will help to shape our world, show that they can accept criticism with dignity, and praise with humility.
We want to know that you are decent people who are capable of keeping this country the great place it is. That's all we are asking. Really, it's that simple. Please, please, please, stop with the slander and teach our children that you can be great and kind at the same time.

Sincerely,   More than "just a mom," I am a voter.
